Hello,
how can I add binder to a structure with hollow fibers without filling the interior of the fibers?

Hello Mark,

if the structure is generated with one of the GeoDict structure generators, the GAD (GeoDict Analytical Data) information of the fibers should be in memory. Then, GeoDict knows, that no binder should be placed into the interior of hollow fibers and it should just work.

Did you maybe discard the GAD-objects or change the structure in a way, that the GAD-information got lost?
Did you get your structure in another way?

Hello Janine,
thank you for your quick response.
I have to add the binder in two parts. One part of the fibers consists of a material that melts and creates a binder only on that type of fiber. In a second step, a chemical binder is added, which can be distributed throughout the entire structure. Therefore, I first create a binder only on the fibers made of the meltable material and import it to all fibers using LayerGeo; in the process, the GAD information is lost.

Hello Mark,

you can fill the hollow objects with a solid material using GadGeo - Edit Domain before losing the GAD-information as described in the GadGeo User Guide (https://geodict-userguide.math2market.de/2026/gadgeo_editdomain.html) under Distinguish between background and hollow parts. After your other steps are done, you can reassign this ID again with ProcessGeo - Reassign Material ID.
