Modelling and generation (-Geo modules) / Yarns composed of two materials
« on: September 21, 2023, 02:26:03 PM »
Hello,

I need to build a textile fabric, but the threads are made up of two materials (example: polyester (30%) and polyamide (70%))? Is it possible to build this thread in WeaveGeo?

Hello,

Do you have this material with more information and images? I am having difficulty building two digital pieces of textile fabrics. I would like to use this material as a base.

Hello,

I know that the Lay Length (WeaveGeo) parameter needs to be a multiple of the unit cell, but there are difficulties entering the correct value. Every time you enter a value, the software changes that value to a new value. So I want to create code (phyton) to perform this transformation, can you help me with this code construction?

Perfect, thank you very much

Now it works, thank you very much

Hello,

I'm having difficulty accessing the value of the 'YoungModulus' in the ResultMap.

I'm using the code presented below, but it gives an error on the line "young_modulus = float(gdr['ResultMap']['Strain']['Isotropic']['YoungModulus'])".

....
gdr_name = gd.runCmd("ElastoDict:SolveFeelMathVOX", SolveFeelMathVOX_args_1, Header['Release'])

import stringmap
young_modulus = gdr['Strain']['Isotropic']['YoungModulus']
gd.msgBox(young_modulus)

May I suggest another way? My code aims to perform an optimization, which will be based on the 'YoungModulus'.

I can't find this file or folder, my software is still from 2022, can I update to 2023?

Hello,

I need to create a yarn that is composed of two multifilament yarns. It is also known as multifilament combined yarn.

But for this construction I only see two options:
• Create a non-combined multifilament yarn using the “Ramdom Multifil” tool (WeaveGeo);
• Create a combined yarn composed of monofilament yarns using the “Rope” tool (WeaveGeo).

None of the options above represent my thread, so can you let me know if there is another option to achieve the desired thread?

Hello,

I am having difficulties in generating digital twins of textile fabrics, as I am not able to identify continuous/short fibers in the yarns of the textile fabric. I've already tested it with several microtomography scans and so far I haven't been able to apply FiberFind for identification. Do you have any example of microtomography that makes this visualization possible? It is noteworthy that microtomography aims to characterize my material, so it makes no sense to use other equipment to identify the fibers.
